Silverlee, the Melbourne-based musical collaboration between singer-songwriter Lisa Wilson and songwriter/producer Chris Saray, is thrilled to announce the release of their debut single, "Woman." "Woman" is described as a “dirty little swamp anthem”, with a smouldering blend of soulful vocals, stripped-back garage rock instrumentation, and bluesy guitar riffs.

 

Wilson describes the song’s vibe as, “Strength and sexiness in slow motion." Guitarist and producer Chris adds, “The song's raw hypnotic instrumentation seeks to mirror the tough yet sensual sentiments expressed by Wilson.”

 

The accompanying music video, directed & shot by Sim Guzel and Bernard Winter, edited by Ben Dniprowskij,  was filmed at Melbourne's iconic vintage warehouse, Retropolis. The visual interpretation features 40 proud women of all ages in a sultry jazz-bar atmosphere, encouraging every listener and viewer to embrace a sense of empowerment, acceptance, and appreciation for their individual essence.

 

"Woman" was recorded in Chris Saray’s Melbourne-based studio and features Roger Bergodaz on drums (Lost Ragas, Tex Perkins, Fat Rubber Band), with industry veteran Lindsay Gravina from Birdland Studios (Adalita, Spiderbait, Jet) handling the mixing and mastering. This slow-burning anthem resonates with anyone who values authenticity, friendship, and strength. It’s sexy, sassy, and subversive.
